Killer Class: Foggy

I think I’ve figured out the source of my pervasive brain fog.

Spring is upon us, with all the flowers in bloom, and as such I’ve been taking loratadine for my allergies. I haven’t taken it in a long time, but if I remember correctly, it definitely made me feel foggy in the past (which, of course, is probably why I haven’t taken it in a long time >_<).

Anyway, I made it through Killer Class, but it took me until Grand Allegro to feel like I had any brain at all. During Grand Allegro, I managed to do Bournonville jetés without winding up on the wrong leg every damned time, so that was a big step (leap, actually … womp womp woooooommmmmmmmp) in the right direction.

I have to dash off for our Dance Team rehearsal, but figure I’d post this before I forget, because frankly right now I am forgetting ERRRTHANG.

No more Claritin for me.

About asher

Me in a nutshell: Standard uptight ballet boy. Trapeze junkie. Half-baked choreographer. Budding researcher. Transit cyclist. Terrible homemaker. Getting along pretty well with bipolar disorder. Fabulous. Married to a very patient man. Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2015). Proto-foodie, but lazy about it. Cat owner ... or, should I say, cat own-ee? ... dog lover. Equestrian.

  1. Never noticed this with lora or cetirizine, but then perhaps the alternative of brutal necksnapping alien face-orgasms every ten minutes put it in perspective:-)

    • Ha! Yeah, that would do it. Also, probably make it just as hard to remember the choreography as a good old-fashioned brain fog.

I seem to be inordinately sensitive to the sedating and/or fogginess-inducing effects of antihistamines and anticholinergics in general–I’m one of those people who will be useless for two days if I take Benedryl (diphenhydramine hcl), and even Dramamine knocks me right out! Cetirizine isn’t as bad fogginess-wise, but does screw around with my mood. Basically, I need to get back on immunotherapy and stop effing around with antihistamines, but for some reason I can’t seem to remember to make an appointment with my allergist… 😀
